Probably one of the most significant reasons that people have recurring back pain is because of tension in their lives and to their bodies. Tension, not unlike stress, has a funny way of wearing your body down. It can lower your immune system, and make you ill easily, it can make you have sore joints, it can make you excessively tired, and it can give you depression. Tension can be some of the most pain inducing pains in the back known today. Basically it is the tension that degenerates the muscles and tightens them to a point that they cramp up, and begin to pain.

It is said that the human skeletal system is sort of like a spider web, if there is a stress in it at any point there will be a rippling effect throughout as it looses its strength and integrity. Many times people really do not know why they could have major back pain, when it is merely due to stress or tension of the area that is paining. This is completely understandable that people do not recognize the reason or cause for their pain. Many times people do not even think to look towards stress or tension as a possible source of the pain.

If you are feeling that you have a form of tension, or stress and that is giving you a bout of back pain you should first go to your doctor and get an opinion about your situation. From that point if the doctor feel that this could be the case, them from that point they could refer you to a specialist. Sometimes the specialist will merely refer you to a massage specialist, this can easily be a very good thing. Massage therapy can be one of the best things for back pain, or even the simple and easily treated tension or stress. If the body is stressed or fatigue has set in then massage therapy may be your best option. What it basically does is make you relax, by you calming and relaxing you will find that much of that tight stiffness in your body will cease. Many times people will find that there will be an improvement in the following areas when they have massage therapy:

Spine

Shoulders

Girdle

Whole back

Ribcage

Sacrum

Pelvis

Thighs

Hips

Feet

Calves

Neck

Head

There are many other forms of treatment that can be associated with the back pain and stress or tension. Not all of the treatments are good for all the cases, as there are many different circumstances that can produce major back pain. Not all back pain is related to stress or tension. However, there are many cases where a good deep tissue massage will not really hurt the situation. The great thing about deep tissue massage is that it will introduce a steady flow of endorphins into your system, this is the natural form of painkiller and when it starts to flow it really makes someone feel good. This is a good thing as there is nothing more pleasing than a good feeling when you are in great pain from a back issue.

Not only is back pain a real issue among adults and young adults alike, it is now affecting children, too. Although this can be a big problem down the road, there is no real recommendation for deep tissue massage for them. This is a very strict and painful measure that most children surely would not be able to endure. It is also believed that children will not be releasing endorphin when they have that kind of stimulation. There are massage therapies for children however, that does not require or introduce deep tissue massage, and they are not really the same as the massage sessions that the adults go through. Whatever they are, the child still benefits from it and ends up be healthier as a result. The next time you have a pain in your back, you might want to look at exactly what is going on in your life at the time. There is a very good chance that you may have a form of stress or tension that is giving you this pain by shutting down your entire system.
